Now Bianca Can Dream
As a young child,
Bianca witnessed domestic violence and alcohol abuse. The small community where she lived in Haiti had no basic infrastructure: no clean water, no electricity, no university. And the small schools were not well-equipped.
Finally, to escape repeated abuse, Bianca’s mother ran away with Bianca and her siblings.
Bianca shares—
“When we arrived at our next location, none of the promises made by our mother’s ex-boyfriend could be kept, because this man already had a wife.”
So their lives became even more difficult than before. They couldn’t go to school, and they couldn’t eat.
Their family knew no one and had no family in the community. Finally, a neighbor invited Bianca’s mother to church, and that’s where she heard about Lifesong and decided to ask for help.
In 2019, Bianca and her little sister …
were welcomed into our Family Life Residence.
Each student in a Lifesong family-style home receives a safe place to live, study, and learn responsibility—all under the gentle, compassionate discipleship and care of a Christian family.
Today, by the grace of God, Bianca is thriving. She receives food to eat, a place to stay, and a Christian education with personal discipleship. She’s a happy young woman who loves doing her friends’ hair.
Being at Lifesong Christian School has changed her life in every way. Her father was a voodooist, which prevented her from going to church and praying to God. But today she worships God alongside her classmates.
