Hope for the Journey Conference + Giveaway!

Could you use some encouragement?

Our friends at Show Hope are hosting Hope for the Journey Conference on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Formerly known as the Empowered to Connect Conference, Hope for the Journey is designed to encourage and equip parents and caregivers who are meeting the everyday needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care.

This conference is also a much-needed resource for churches, agencies, and organizations in their care and support of the families and communities they serve.

What does Hope for the Journey include?

The conference includes research-based tools to promote attachment and connection in families such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) methods developed by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU.

TBRI is a care model specifically designed to help meet relational and developmental needs of children and youth impacted by trauma.

The conference also explores the Gospel as foundational to TBRI and how churches and organizations can better support children and families in their ministries and communities.

“The adoption journey can feel very isolated, especially during the most challenging of times. Yet please hear this: You are not alone.”

— Mary Beth Chapman, Cofounder of Show Hope

How is Hope for the Journey structured?

The conference is entirely online. But if you’re unable to watch it on Friday, April 14, 2023, the On-Demand viewing period runs through June 30, 2023. So you can watch and absorb the information at your own pace.

Here are the 5 modules that will be covered in the conference:

  • Module 1: An Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
    Approximately 90 to 100 minutes
  • Module 2: Connecting Principles
    Approximately 90 to 100 minutes
  • Module 3: Empowering Principles
    Approximately 90 to 100 minutes
  • Module 4: Correcting Principles
    Approximately 90 to 100 minutes
  • Module 5: The Gospel+TBRI
    Approximately 60 to 70 minutes

“Adoption is this messy yet beautiful picture of unconditional love amid hardship, pain, and grief. It’s a picture of the way God loves us—brokenness and all.”

— Steven Curtis Chapman, Cofounder of Show Hope
