After Failure, Lenick Learned to Grow

We all fall short of our hopes and dreams at times. But what defines us is not our failure, but what we choose to do next.
We hope Lenick’s story will inspire you to persevere even when life doesn’t go according to plan. God gives us every opportunity to depend on Him for strength and rise above our circumstances.
Thank you for your support that is changing lives and inspiring hope in the orphaned and vulnerable children we serve in Haiti.

Last year, when Lenick sat down to take national high school exams in Haiti,
he did so with confidence, believing he would succeed. When didn’t pass, he was devastated.
Lenick withdrew from the world, shutting himself in his room, unable to understand how his dream had slipped away.
It was in this moment, unsure of his future, that our campus in Haiti was attacked by an armed gang. The entire community fled to the mountains, and thanks to evacuation efforts, Lenick and the other orphaned and vulnerable children we serve, were safely relocated.
It was yet another tragedy in Lenick’s life.
But this time, he saw it as an opportunity.
He prepared once again to take the national high school exam and simultaneously enrolled in a technical program where he studied agriculture.
Having endured the pain of failure once, he found the strength necessary to pursue his goal. And this time, he passed!

Top: Lenick shares his agriculture expertise.
Today, Lenick continues rise above his circumstances. During a community clean-up and reforestation day, Lenick passionately shared his agricultural knowledge. He worked tirelessly, assisting the orphaned and vulnerable children we serve as they planted young seedlings.
As the day wore on, most of his peers grew weary and moved on from the task.
Lenick persisted, filled with determination forged in adversity.
He declared, “M’ap plante tout,” which means, “I will plant it all.”
And he did—just as he promised.
The seedlings Lenick planted are now beginning to sprout. Like Lenick, they are a living testament to growth after failure and life emerging from hardship.
Lenick demonstrates courage, resilience, and above all, unwavering faith in God, Who carves a path forward, even in the darkest of times.
Lenick planted it all. And God is making it grow.
