Adoption, Uncertainty, and the God Who Provides

Adoption has a way of turning life upside down
in the best and hardest ways. And it brings with it a whole lot of uncertainty.
It stretches hearts, budgets, timelines, and trust. There are moments of deep joy, holy heartbreak, and more paperwork than anyone ever warned about.
But in the middle of the chaos—between late-night prayers, financial doubts, and unwavering hope—God’s presence is unmistakable.
The story below is from one of our families, and it’s a beautiful reminder that faith doesn’t mean everything goes smoothly. It means God stays close when nothing feels certain.
This family walked through fear, hope, provision, and a whole lot of prayer—and their words speak for themselves—

Jenny and Cameron’s Story
“When we decided to pursue adoption, we knew God was in control of the whole process. We decided to move forward in faith and trust that He would provide for us.
We’ve never felt God’s presence more clearly than when we were walking through the adoption process. He was near to us, and He guided us step by step through all the uncertainty.
At one point, it was looking like our adoption could potentially be disrupted after we had already met our baby boy and spent 3 days in the NICU with him. After much prayer, the Holy Spirit gave us the clarity, comfort, and words to share with our birth mother, and by God’s grace, the adoption was finalized.
We were so blessed to receive a matching grant from Lifesong. Throughout the whole adoption process, our biggest hurdle was the financial aspect of it. How were we going to raise that much money?
We knew all along that God would provide for us, and He did through the help of Lifesong.”

God is in the details.
He’s in the thick of NICU visits and fundraising goals and late-night uncertainty. He can be found in the timing, in the provision, and in the people He brings alongside us to say, “You’re not alone. Let’s do this together.”
Here at Lifesong, we get to see this up close. Every time a family says yes to adoption, even when the numbers don’t add up and the future feels like a fog, we see God do what only He can do—make a way.
So if you’re in the middle of your story—waiting, wondering, praying—this is your reminder: you’re not crazy for hoping. You’re not alone in your waiting. And you’re not going to be the exception to God’s faithfulness.
He’s already in it. And He’s not done yet.
Thanks to generous donors and the wild, undeserved grace of God, families like Jenny and Cameron’s get to say yes—even when it doesn’t make sense on paper.
We’d be honored to help your family say yes, too. If God is calling you to adopt, we’re here—to pray with you, believe with you, and walk with you until every child is home.
