Mentorship is Flourishing in Guatemala Gardens
It is a unique privilege to watch as God provides for the needs of orphaned and vulnerable young mothers and their babies. The local church becomes like parents, as they mentor, disciple, and care for children in their communities.

It means being intentional about considering the whole child—their physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing—rather than focusing solely on their physical needs.
Our team in Guatemala is committed to serving orphaned and vulnerable young mothers and their babies to help them thrive physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
Sometimes, that includes caring for unique needs, like the need for a father figure, the need for healthy food that nourishes their bodies, and the need for sunshine and newly-learned skills.
The little boys our team cares for are flourishing as they help our staff tend the vegetable garden. They pick the vegetables, wash them, and help deliver them, feeling proud of their hard work and accomplishments.

Above all, they look forward to spending time with Christian male role models.
Their role models teach them valuable hands-on skills, while also demonstrating how to act with patience, care, and responsibility.

God has given the gift of male mentorship to these young boys without father figures.

Pray for Guatemala
- Praise God that all of the orphaned and vulnerable children we serve and our staff are safe from the 135 earthquakes and aftershocks that took place in Guatemala.
- Praise God that young boys are being mentored by Christian role models while learning skills in the garden.
- Pray that God would prepare adoptive families for the children who are waiting to be adopted.
- Pray for comfort for those who are grieving the loss of a baby girl, who died in the hospital.
- Pray that the young mothers we serve would know their worth in Christ.
